Fire On Ice was formed in 1986 and is the most successful synchronized ice skating team in Australia. The team has competed at Novice, Junior and Senior levels at both State and National championships. The Junior and Senior teams have both represented Australia internationally. At 2012 World Championships, Fire On Ice Senior achieved the highest placing of any Australian synchronized skating team in history.

Fire On Ice supports a developmental pathway that includes Development, Novice, Junior, Open, Adult  and Senior teams. Our athletes can choose to follow a competitive pathway, or can opt to skate non-competitively.

Our Mission is to ensure superior skating skill development and a healthy lifestyle, in an environment that is safe, caring, inclusive, welcoming, and non-discrimatory.

Our Vision is to develop our teams to be the best that they can be, to improve synchronized skating’s profile in the Australian Figure Skating family, and to produce athletes who show integrity, play fair, and are exemplary sportsmen and women.

Synchronized skating is a large and fast-growing discipline, consisting of 9 to 16 athletes skating on ice at the one time. The aim is for the members of the team to move together in unison. As the skill level of the skaters and the team improve the skaters will move at high speeds.

Many former teammates have gone on to continue their skating career through either coaching or performing in ice shows.

Fire On Ice also has a strong international reputation with skaters from Finland, France, USA, Canada and New Zealand joining in the past. Fire On Ice Senior skaters have also competed with Team Germany, Finland, USA and Canada.

Welcome to the Fire on Ice Synchronized Skating family. Successful teams are made up of more than just their athletes. Coaches, leaders, parents and team management all play vital roles in the success of our teams.
